Thanks to its lakes and mountains, Ganjabasar is considered to be one of the most beautiful places in Azerbaijan. Everything is exceptional here - mighty forests, snowy peaks, thundering waterfalls, rejuvenating mineral spas, crystal-clear water, and endless sub-alpine and alpine meadows.

Clean air, an abundance of lush vegetation, and the rich flora and fauna of the mountain massif which stretches along the Murovdag mountain range, in the summer attracts lovers of nature, who come with their families on holiday from nearby districts and the capital of the republic. The most popular is Eylag Khoshbulag, with its Alpine meadows and cool springs. In 1139, not far from Ganja, a massive earthquake occurred, as a result of which eight of the most beautiful lakes were created. One of them is the pearl of Azerbaijan, the amazing Goygol Lake. A Reserve of the same name is situated here. The nature of the Reserve is rich in forest beauty, blue lakes, charming bird songs and the aroma of trees and flowers.
Quiet villages located in picturesque surroundings, lure you to stop and rest; the forests and lakes, which are rich in game animals and full of fish, tempt you with hunting and fishing. The Juma-mosque of Ganja was built in 1604-1606 by the architect, Sheikh Bahaheddin. During construction of the mosque, double wall construction methods of were used: between the external and internal sections, a mix of sand, straw, clay, egg whites and other materials were added. It promoted heat savings in winter and protection against the heat in summer. At the same time, such walls gave to the building an elasticity, serving as protection against damage during earthquakes. For this reason, the mosque has not suffered during the numerous earthquakes which have occurred over the centuries.
The bridge on the Khram River in Gazakh district is known among Caucasian people by the name Sinig Korpu (Broken Bridge). The length of the bridge is unusual: around 175 meters. It was built in the 12th century, after the destruction of an even more ancient bridge, the remainder of which was preserved 95 meters downstream.
The Gizil Gaya (Golden Rock) Mountain, shining with golden color in the bright rays of the sun inspires admiration. In ancient times, the Koroglu or Dividan fortress (16-17th centuries) sat on its summit.
