One of the brightest representatives of this school is famous architect Ajami ibn Abu Bakr Nakhchivani. Two among the created masterpieces have been maintained at present. These are-mausoleum of Yusuf Ibn Kuseir (1162) and mausoleum of Moininakhalun(1186 ã.).

The fortress of Alinja was one of the most powerful defensive works of its time. The fortress was built on the top of the steep mountain with almost sheer rocks near to Julfa town. Strong stonewalls passed in several lines from the mountain feet. The canals, carved in the slopes and connected between each other, gathered rain and snow and nourished shaded basins with water. The fortress was inaccessible for the enemies.

At a height of 2424 m above the sea level among alpine meadows there is the beautiful Batabat Lake. This is one of the most picturesque corners of the Nakhchivan Republic. Local places absorbed all beauty and charm of the nature. The artificial lake, which was created near the Gazanchi village of 1500 m is also the adornment of this territory.
