Thanks to its takes and mountains Ganjabasar is considered to be one of
the most beautiful place in Azerbaijan. Everything is wonderful here -
mighty forests, snowed up peaks, noisy waterfalls, curative mineral
spas, crystal-clear water, motley sub alpine and alpine meadows.
Clean air, abundance of verdure, rich flora and fauna of the forest
massif that is stretched along the Murovdag mountain ridge attracts
here in summer time lovers of nature, which come with families to rest
from nearby districts and a capital of the republic. The most popular
is Eylag Khoshbulag with its Alpine meadows and cool springs. In 1139
not far from Ganja was strong earthquake caused, in result of which
eight the most beautiful lakes were created. One of them is the pearl
of Azerbaijan, the amazing Goygol Lake. The Reserve under the same name
is situated here now. Nature of the Reserve staggers with forest
beauty, blueness of lakes, and charms by bird singing and aroma of
verdure and flowers.
Quite villages located in a picturesque surrounding lure you to a rest
in a village; and the forests and the lakes, which are rich with game
animal and full with fish, tempt you to hunting and fishing.
Juma-mosque of Ganja was built in 1604-1606 by the architect Sheikh
Bahaheddin. At construction of the mosque architectural method of
double walls was used: between an external and internal ones åhe mix of
sand, straw, clay, egg white and other materials was placed. It
promoted saving of heat in winter and protection against heat in the
summer. At the same time, such walls gave to the building the
elasticity served by protection against destructions at possible
earthquakes. For this reason, the mosque has not suffered during the
occurred numerous earthquakes.
The bridge on the Khram River in the Gazakh district is known among
Caucasian people after the Sinig Korpu (Broken Bridge) name. The length
of the bridge is unusual: about 175 meters. The bridge was built in
12th century after destroying of more ancient bridge, the remainder of
which was preserved in 95 meters downstream.
The Gizil Gaya (Gold Rock) Mountain, shining with golden color in
bright sunrays excites an admiration. In ancient times Koroglu or
Dividan fortress (16-17th centuries) stayed on its top. |
